Who I am and who I work with:
Hey there! I’m Kass, owner of Boomtown Solutions.
I grew up working class, raised by parents who were always doing their best but never had the time or resources to teach me much about money—except that it was tight, and we had to hustle. I started working young and spent my first working decade juggling restaurant jobs. They didn’t pay much but taught me everything I needed to know about grit, care, and what it means to show up for people.
Before Boomtown, but after restaurant life, I cleaned houses on nights and weekends while doing corporate healthcare administration work. (The Workers’ Comp appeals process is appalling, y’all.) Through every version of my work—hourly jobs, side gigs, self-employment—I’ve felt that deep exhaustion of trying to hold everything together with no safety net.
When I started helping other people make sense of their finances, whether business or personal, I realized just how many of us were quietly struggling. Not because we’re bad with money, but because no one ever gave us the tools, or worse, made us feel like we didn’t deserve them.
So I created Boomtown to be the opposite of all that. A place where working-class folks, care providers, and self-employed humans could get solid, shame-free money support. A place where we talk about debt, confusion, burnout, and budgets without judgment—and make a plan that actually works for you.
You don’t need to be “good with money” to get started. You just need someone in your corner who’s been there.
That’s me. Let’s build something better together.

Work Isn’t Everything
I live in Rochester, NY with my husband, our cat and our dog. When I’m not working, I love:
reading one of the many books on my TBR “pile” (it’s an entire bookshelf, friends)
cooking (eating)
binge-watching TV (send me your hour-long drama recs, please)
hiking with our dog
seeing live music
supporting our local theatres (both the live and cinematic varieties)
traveling as often as possible.
While Boomtown is my main gig, I also co-own Tru Yoga, a community-centered studio here in Rochester. Yes—it’s technically work. But Tru feels more like home than hustle. It’s where I get to show up as a teacher, a student, and a steward of a space that prioritizes connection and collective healing. The relationships I’ve built there remind me why I do any of this in the first place.
I also volunteer with Rochester Mutual Aid Network every week—we focused on food justice, housing support, and harm reduction. If you’re a Rochester local, you can find more info about our work here!
Rest, joy, and solidarity matter just as much as spreadsheets.
